Recommended after treatment care

DRINK WATER

Massage increases your blood circulation and hydrates your muscle tissues.  It is good to drink water after your massage to replenish your body and for any lightheadedness after deep relaxation.   Some schools of thought feel massage releases lactic acid into the system and water helps to flush it out.  Whatever the case, water is good for you and most of us don't drink enough, so it is a good habit to get into after your massage treatment, have a glass of water, and just sip, relax and enjoy!!

STRETCH

Stretching helps to realign the muscle fibers in effect improving muscle recovery..It also helps to train the nervous system for flexibility. 

HYDROTHERAPY

Heat softens muscles and the fascia that surrounds them, making them more flexible while increasing circulation, promoting relaxation and decreasing pain.  The calming effect from the heat can reduce blood pressure and improve ROM in chronic conditions.

Cold is used in cases of inflammation as well as after deep friction massage.

Contrast hydrotherapy relies on the contrast between hot and cold.. The heat causes blood vessels that are close to the surface of the skin to dilate, while the cold causes them to constrict.  Alternating between hot and cold is thought to stimulate circulation, remove waste deposits from body tissue and decrease inflammation.

RELAX and REFLECT

Give yourself some space to reflect on your whole self.  Be gentle, loving and caring to yourself and appreciate that you are taking steps to being the best person you can be!!
